HS2 Project Support

Over the past few months we have delivered a number of machines to the HS2 Chiltern Tunnel Project.

At 16km in length, the Chiltern Tunnel is the longest tunnel on the HS2 route between London and Crewe, carrying passengers under the Chiltern Hills.

Maintenance crews were initially using electric machines that had been ordered from a Chinese manufacturer. However, the lack of reliability meant they were falling behind schedule.

So the decision was made to reinvest in 9 new diesel models, which could stand up to the daily task of both build and maintenance demands.

So far we have delivered 6 Corvus Terrain DX4 and 3 Kawasaki Crews, which are doing just that!
This week Carl has been busy preparing a CLH Trailer with additional lights. As the trailer is an ATV Trailer it is designed for use off-road and therefore does not require lights. However, as it is being used in the Chiltern Tunnel with the maintenance crew, the lights are a vital necessity for both use and safety.
